I am creating a digital visualisation which will be placed on a website, the main interaction for the users will be the parallax scrolling, as they scroll an animated sequence will come together on a screen. I want to create a way of spreading awareness where I can really involve my audiences so they get a clear message. The image to the right is a mock-up i created in Adobe Animate of what the site could look like. I want to convey this information in an appealing manner and also come off as professional as possible.  The topic is based on a serious current world issue, which also links in with climate change. With the aid of this project I feel I can communicate a clear message to my audiences and allow them to become aware to what is due upon us. (Upton, 2017) Many people know that the sea level has been rising for many years,  but how many people know the full extent of what is going on? For the past 1000's of years the sea level has been rising at a constant, but it is now getting to a point where we should all become aware and concerned about the shocking rate in which it is rising. To the right there is a GIF from the Climate Central website  The fact that the damage we have made is now irreversible, I feel there should be more attention brought towards this potentially critical situation, "The changes to tidal characteristics caused by future Sea Leven Rise presented in this paper have important long-term global implications." In regards to the rising water level, the future is looking relatively bleak for some places. " Disruptive and expensive, nuisance flooding is estimated to be from 300 percent to 900 percent more frequent within U.S. coastal communities than it was just 50 years ago."  (Oceanservice.noaa.gov, 2018), this information came from a report wrote by the government agency;  National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Manila is the capital city of the Philippines  and it is sinking by 4 inches per year. This has been caused by the mass groundwater extractions over the years.  Because the sea level is rising at a steady pace as well, this is another city that will be disappearing in a number of years to come. Due to the  agricultultural needs they also need to use water for things such as rice fields.  This was part of the mass demand of water which came from their groundwater tanks. The excretion of the water means the city hasn't got anything to support its weight.  There has been a dramatic increase in flooding and due to the sinking state of the city, their drainage system isn't what it needs to be. (M, Lin Mei, 2018) The capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, is sinking at an alarming rate and will soon be completely submerged if things don't change soon. This isn't just due to the rising sea level, the residences of Jakarta are using too much groundwater which causes the ground which is supporting the city to collapse and sink. The more water that is extracted from the ground, the more Jakarta sinks.  (BBC News, 2018) This is almost irreplaceable damage which can make existing problems worse, such as flooding. This city is prone to flooding even more so now than ever before. This is because on the way the landscape is left after all the water has been drawn out from underneath it.
